3rd Annual Run for Rwanda
International 5k Run/Walk
"One goal, two continents, three years running!"
Saturday, August 7, 2010
Cottonwood Creek Park, Colorado Springs, CO
Kibali, Rwanda (Central Africa)
Thanks to all who helped make this morning's race another successful , meaningful, and fun event. More than 380 runners and walkers registered for the Colorado Springs race and more than 250 registered in Kibali (including one American woman whose twin sister ran in Colorado Springs!).
Preliminary figures indicate this year's event raised more than $12,000 for the Kibali Health Clinic, school scholarships, and gifts of livestock, bringing the three-year total to more than $45,000! This only happens because hundreds of runners, walkers, sponsors, donors, volunteers, and other supporters are commited to making it happen.
Race Results: Race results can currently be viewed on the Pikes Peak Road Runners website; for RFR results, click here. Results pages, including results and photos of the Kibali race, will be added to this site in the coming days.
Results of the top finishers of the Kibali race can be viewed here . There are a few pictures, as well.
Awards: If you placed in the top three in your age group but did not stay to receive your award, you may pick it up at the Boulder Running Co. ( 3659 Austin Bluffs Pkwy., Colorado Springs) during normal business hours.

Again, thanks for being part of our two communities' race toward a common finish line -- a more hopeful future for the people of Kibali.
Gratefully,
Steve Flannery, Race Director
